Family first, in scope and in conversation
Schools, healthcare, gemeente appointments, children\'s settling — these are in scope from the first conversation, not added as an afterthought after the survey. The move plan reflects them.
Most UK to Netherlands removals firms are set up for corporate relocations — fixed dates, RMC-managed, work-driven. We are built for the families and returning Dutch nationals who do not fit that template.
Two main groups. UK families relocating to the Netherlands for a slower-paced, more considered life — Utrecht, Haarlem-and-the-coast, Zeeland, Friesland. Dutch nationals returning home from the UK after years abroad — coming back to family, to roots, often to a town in their own home province.
The corridor is the same UK→Netherlands corridor every Dutch removals firm covers. The audience angle is the one we know best. We have deliberately not built our content or our route knowledge around corporate ASML/Philips/banking relocations — those are well-served by other corridor specialists in our network. If your move is a fixed-date professional relocation with a recognised relocation-management firm running point, talk to them about the right route first.
What we do offer, instead, is a slower conversation, a longer survey, and a move plan that respects the cross-dependencies of family and returnee moves: school years, returning grandparents, dormant Dutch BSNs, UK property completion timing, children\'s settling concerns. The brief takes a little longer; the move tends to go more smoothly.
Schools, healthcare, gemeente appointments, children\'s settling — these are in scope from the first conversation, not added as an afterthought after the survey. The move plan reflects them.
BSN reactivation, gemeente re-registration, UK-born children\'s Dutch passports, the emotional shape of going home — we have moved enough returning families to know this is a different kind of move and we plan it as such.
UK ToR1 to HMRC. Dutch Customs inventory and supporting documentation. Residency evidence package tuned to family or returnee. Direct response to Dutch Customs on any queries.
We are not a generalist European removals firm. We are not a corporate-relocation specialist. We are not tax or residency advisers. We will tell you if your move would be better routed elsewhere.
We do not transport animals. Pets travel via dedicated pet-transport firms, Eurotunnel pet service, ferry, or approved air carriers — never in a removals lorry, regardless of any assurance to the contrary.
We are not tax advisers, residency advisers, or property lawyers. We will not give 30%-ruling advice, IND-permit advice, or Dutch property-law advice. We coordinate with the specialists who do those things and can refer you when needed.
We are not a corridor-generalist firm. UK→France, UK→Italy, UK→Spain, UK→Germany — these are different corridors with different paperwork and different infrastructure. We do not pretend to know them as well as the firms that specialise in them.
We are not a low-price-leader firm. The corridor specialism makes our cost competitive on this route; if your priority is the absolute cheapest move available we are probably not the right fit.
A first conversation tells us whether the corridor specialism is what you need. Either way, you get an honest answer.
